One-line Definition
A five-character blind-box and packaging system for ORA's cat-based brand IP.
Brief
Meow on the Move extends ORA's friendly automotive identity into a collectible blind-box series. Five cat characters translate travel, festival and everyday-luck themes into small physical products. A shared packaging language connects the figures back to the vehicle brand.
Concept Development
The collection includes New Year, Donut, Black Cat Travel, Persimmon Luck and Angel editions. Each version preserves the same base character proportions while changing costume, pose and symbolic props. This balance supports series recognition while giving each figure its own narrative.
Form Development
Rounded facial features, oversized paws and soft body volumes create an approachable collectible language. Small automotive cues and travel props connect the characters with ORA without turning them into miniature cars. A matte flocked surface was proposed to strengthen warmth and tactile appeal.
Final Design
The final board presents all five figures, a common mystery-box package and the random-collection experience. Packaging uses a travel-city illustration, brand logo and concealed character information to support retail display. The system can expand through seasonal editions without changing its core visual structure.
Outcome
The project connected character modelling, product CMF and packaging into one brand-derivative system. It strengthened the ability to maintain consistency across a family while developing individual personalities. Future work could add manufacturing splits, material specifications and retail-cost studies.
